I have a new understanding about life. Life is dynamic, ever flowing, ever changing, so I must be adaptable too. This is only done by focusing on the moment, no longer prisoner to the past, no longer slave to the future that I desire. There is a profound freedom in surrendering to the present moment in life which allows me to savor every joy. The key to a successful life is within a shift in perception of success as the overall journey, rather than one destination.
To put this into context, I will explain what I have done to myself any time I take the destination approach. The simple drive and determination that I have in my final destination creates limitations. This is because this is fueled by my past, and, or my future. I am creating a rigid environment by chasing a single outcome. There is no room for anything other than what I want to achieve. My single minded attitude sets up barriers, or walls that I impose within my going after my goal. Since I am not open to anything but getting what I want, I am a rat in a maze of my own creation. Frustrated and bruised from battering the very walls that I have built and come up against, I accept defeat, and perpetuate the vicious cycle.
I now choose to break the toxic cycle and will experience the journey itself. This allows me to dismantle the walls of the maze I created. I am now open and receptive to all destinations through my journey. The effect of this shift will become evident when more opportunities are presented to me, or possibilities are created through my being receptive. My adaptability matches the flow of life, and my intentions create the law of attraction. It is as if I am a magician, or alchemist now, accepting the changes and shifts within my daily life. I understand that I simply have to inject my love into any negative in my path. The love I hold for myself, my success, and all my loved ones transmutes the negatives into positives.
Life can feel like a chore when I chase a single destination, but is a blessing when I accept the path that I am on, and experience all the destinations along the journey. I cannot control anything within my environment, but I can accept my outer surroundings, and know that my response to the circumstances determines my ultimate outcome. My choice is to savor the blessings and experiences in my life as what God has for me, and I give Him all the glory.
